Hooray Rotom
Looks like Nintendo is finally getting ready to distribute Rotom’s Secret Key, according to an announcement on the official Platinum website. They’re going to be distributing from April 20th to May 12th, both via the Nintendo WiFi Connection and Toys ‘R’ Us, which is an interesting choice. I believe they only did it via WiFi in Japan; makes me wonder if Nintendo has some sort of exclusivity agreement with TRU, or if this is a case of the US having less broadband penetration.
At any rate, this does make me more hopeful that we’ll see Event Items like the Member Pass and Oak’s Letter through WiFi, rather than just the Nintendo-sponsored TRU downloads. I’ve always wondered if Nintendo decided to hold off on using the events they programmed into D/P because of the glitches in the first run that allowed players to acquire these critters, or if this was the plan all along. But I suppose that’s neither here nor there.
Time to breed for a good Rotom. I’m gonna see how well I can do at the Battle Tower with a Hail team based around Rotom’s Fridge form. ^^b
EDIT: Apparently they’ll also be giving away a couple of Pokemon for the 12th movie, which will see release in Japan soon. Apparently we’re getting a shiny Lv. 30 Pichu with Charm, Endeavor, Volt Tackle and Discharge, which is interesting if only because we can now do a Focus Sash / Endeavor / Quick Attack set with the world’s most obnoxious mouse.
The other Pokemon they’ll be showing off is a Lv. 100 Arceus with Judgment, Roar of Time, Shadow Force, and Spacial Rend. Which is justĀ mind boggling. Nintendo really needs to stop releasing Lv. 100 event Pokemon, because they’re impossible to train – you can’t EV train them, there’s no need to level them, and the only way they learn new moves is through Heart Scales, TMs/HMs, or Move Tutors. What’s the point of a Lv. 100 Pokemon?
